Have visited the Quinta das Peixotas?
Quinta de Cima Valbom Peixotas has 30 hectares of vineyard mechanization and is situated on the right bank of the Douro, 5 km upstream from the town of Ruler.
Vine culture in this parish dates back to the Roman occupation, which can be seen in the ruins of the fortified agglomeration of the first century called “Source of Corn.”
Quinta de Cima Valbom Peixotas will probably start to vine culture in the eighteenth century, but it was in the early nineteenth century viticulture expanded, and the first winery was built.
Today has 30 hectares of vineyard mechanization, with an average age of 17 years, and produces wine Doc Porto and Douro DOC wine.
The dominant varieties are Touriga franca, Touriga National, Tinta Barroca and Tinta Roriz.
